Notes:
1. Field Trip Fees

It may be necessary for students to take field trips as part of their course requirements in programs other than those identified above; if field trips are required, students will be assessed accordingly.
Outdoor Recreation
**Outdoor Recreation - In addition to the above-noted fees, food and accommodation expenses for mandatory field trips in year 3 will range from $200 to $500 depending on the number of days involved. Expenses charged for optional field trips in years 3 and 4 vary depending on the particular trip.
Non Outdoor Recreation students who are registered in OUTD 1910 and/or 1930 will be subject to a field trip fee of $35.00 per course.
Non Outdoor Recreation students who are registered in OUTD 2310 will be subject to a field trip fee of $275.
Non Outdoor Recreation students who are registered in OUTD 2350 will be subject to a field trip fee of $200.
Forestry
Non HBScF Co-op and Non Co-op Forestry students who are registered in FORE 3116 will be assessed a field trip fee of $80.00.
Geology
Students in GEOL 1111 and ENST 1112 will be assessed a $40 field trip fee.
Students in GEOL 2318 will be assessed a $50 field trip fee.
***Geology 4161 - Field Trip Fee is $380.00.
General Science
****General Science 0310/0330 - Photography Lab Fee is $80.00 each course.
Education
@The Field Trip Fee for Education 4284, the Outdoor Education course, is $250.00. The Field Trip Fee for Education 3238 is $60.00.

2. Graduation Fee
Graduation Fee of $45.00 is payable with first installment in the graduating year; not transferable or refundable. An additional fee of $22.00 is charged for a second (concurrent) degree. (See also Miscellaneous Fees #10). Students attending Convocation should be aware of an additional regalia (academic gown and hood) rental fee of $25.00.

3. Computer Enhancement (Technology) Fee

The Computer Enhancement (Technology) Fee of $5.00 per course, up to a maximum of $25.00 per full-time student, will be applied directly to student access hardware to enhance Lakehead University computing facilities that are of direct benefit to students.

4. Co-op Programs Ancillary Fees

The Ancillary Fee for Co-op Programs will be half of the fee normally charged for full-time students, with one exception. Co-op students are not automatically covered under the LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance Plan; however, if this coverage is required, students must apply at the LUSU Office before the deadline date.

5. LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance Fees

The LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance cost is $285. The policy is effective September 1, 2009 for the 12 months ending August 31, 2010. All full-time undergraduate students* who have registered in 4.0 or more FCEs for 2009FW (at any time during the registration period prior to September 24, 2009) will be charged this fee. This fee is mandatory and must be paid to the Accounts Office of Lakehead University.

Should students have comparable existing coverage and wish to waive the LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance, they must provide proof of coverage and return the necessary Opt Out Form to the LUSU Office (Room SC-0001) by September 24, 2009. There are no exceptions to this date. Payment to Lakehead University Accounts Office is still required. Non-payment of LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance does not mean the student has opted out or that the student is not covered under the policy.

The student will receive a reimbursement from the Insurer once the Opt-Out form has been remitted by LUSU.

The LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance plan can be a supplement to any existing medical plan. This plan is designed to reduce medical expenses.

6. LUSU Fee
The LUSU fee will be charged to all courses, including Continuing Education & Distributed Learning, Co-op Work Terms and self-directed courses.

7. UHIP Fee

UHIP Coverage - Foreign students and their dependents must enroll in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for health coverage. The premium for a single person is $756.00 for 12 months, Canadian funds, including taxes (September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010).
