The Department offers programs leading to Honours Bachelor of Music and Honours Bachelor of Arts (Music) Degrees.
1. Honours BMus
Four Year program
The Honours Bachelor of Music provides students with a comprehensive background in all aspects of music theory, history and performance. This program is designed to prepare students to pursue graduate work or to enter the work force as professional musicians.

2. Honours BA (Music Major)
Four Year program
The Honours Bachelor of Arts (Music Major) program, while offering a wide range of courses in music, allows students to take a number of nonmusic electives, including three or more courses in a secondary area. This program is designed especially for students who wish to pursue a career in music education.

3. Concurrent Programs with Education
A. The Honours BA (Music) is offered concurrently with a Bachelor of Education degree. Prior to the Professional Year, students should follow the HBA program requirements; however, they should also include the prior to entry into the Professional Year requirements of the Primary-Junior, Junior-Intermediate, or Intermediate-Senior Specializations, as listed on pages 70-71. Note:
For students in concurrent honours bachelor degree programs, 1.5 FCEs of required Education courses will be taken instead of electives in the HBA program, prior to entering the Professional Year.
