REGULATIONS
(a) To be considered for admission to this special program, a student must have satisfactorily completed all courses required for Year I. Students are selected on a competitive basis.
(b) The University will provide employment contacts with participating employers for each student prior to each work period. Students must apply for placement opportunities. Employers make hiring decisions on a competitive basis.
(c) Year to year continuation in the program requires that regular program requirements be met, and all required Business Work Placements be successfully completed.
(d) Work term credits (Business Work Placements) are not applicable towards the completion of a regular Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree or Bachelor of Administration degree.

4. Honours Bachelor of Commerce College Transfer Program

Graduates of six semester (three year) College Business programs who have satisfied the course requirements of the first and second years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program may be admitted to the College Transfer Program. College graduates of Business programs with a minimum "B+" average (cumulative average in business courses) are eligible for admission to the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to either the University or a specific program.

For program requirements, students should follow the requirements for their majors as listed above in Third and Fourth Years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, pages 47-48.

 

5. Bachelor of Administration College Transfer Program

Graduates of six semester (three year) College Business programs who have satisfied the course requirements of the first and second years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program may be admitted to the College Transfer Program. College graduates of Business programs with a minimum "B" average (cumulative average in business courses) are eligible for admission to the third year of the Bachelor of Administration Program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to either the University or a specific program.

6. Honours Bachelor of Commerce Transfer Program from Bachelor of Administration

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Administration degree, students with a 70% average in all their business subjects may enter a special Honours Bachelor of Commerce transfer program.

Regulation 1. Courses used as credit towards obtaining the Bachelor of Administration Degree may not be used as credit in the third or fourth years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree Program. Where a course taken toward the Bachelor of Administration Degree is equivalent to one specified for the third or fourth year of the H.B. Comm. Program, students will be required to take a substitute course specified by the Faculty of Business Administration.

Regulation 2. Courses used as credit towards obtaining the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree may not be used as credit in the one year Bachelor of Administration Degree Program. Where a course taken toward the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree is equivalent to one specified for the B. Admin. Program, students will be required to take a substitute course specified by the Faculty of Business Administration.

7. Entrepreneur Certificate Program

A series of courses designed to improve the competence of individuals in setting up and running their own business.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:
This program is only open to non-business students enrolled in any degree program at Lakehead University.

ACADEMIC REGULATIONS:
1. All required courses must be taken at Lakehead University.
2. The certificate will be conferred at the same time as/upon completion of a degree at Lakehead University provided the student has attained a grade of no less than 60% in each of the courses of the certificate program.

Courses for Part-time Students and Non-Business Majors:

These courses provide part-time students and non-business majors with an appreciation of the challenge facing practicing managers. The courses attempt to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit in part-time students and those pursuing other majors. Completion of each course with a mark of at least 60% is a prerequisite (together with all other prerequisites listed in the Calendar) for registration by non-business majors in every advanced business course.
