Four Year program

First Year:
(a) Social Work 1100
(b) Women’s Studies 1100
(c) One FCE elective in Women’s Studies
(d) One FCE from Type A courses (if Women's Studies 1100 counted as Type B) or one FCE from Type B courses
(if Women's Studies 1100 counted as Type A)
(e) One FCE elective (Social Work, and courses cross-calendared with Social Work, excluded)


Second Year:
(a) Social Work 2011 and Social Work 2012
(b) One FCE in Women’s Studies Core Courses at the second year level.
(c) One FCE elective in Women’s Studies Group 1 at the third year level, excluding Women's Studies 3030.
(d) One FCE elective in a field relevant to Social Work, approved by the School of Social Work on a
case by case basis, or in Social Work.
(e) One FCE elective (Social Work, and courses cross-calendared with Social Work, excluded)

Note 1: Students must apply and be admitted before being allowed to enter Year 3 of this program.

Note 2: Students please contact the Women’s Studies Instructors for permissions to enter third year courses
to fulfill Item (c) above.

Third Year:
(a) Social Work 3215, 3315, and 3401
(b) Social Work 3500 (1.5 FCE equivalent)
(c) Women’s Studies 3030
(d) One FCE elective in Social Work

Note 1: Students must take a total of one FCE electives in Social Work. Item (d) can be fulfilled with up to one FCE in courses relevant to Social Work, with permission of the school, if the student ensures one FCE in Social Work electives in Second and Third Year. Permission is granted on a case by case basis.

Note 2: Social Work 3500 and/or Social Work 4500 must involve social work practice with women or the LGBTQ+community.

Fourth Year:
(a) Social Work 4401
(b) Social Work 4500 (1.5 FCE equivalent)
(c) Social Work 4212, 4411 and 4405
(d) One-half FCE elective in Women’s Studies Group 1 at the fourth year level.

Note: The Indigenous Content Requirement is being met through the inclusion of Social Work 4411.
