Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts Major) (TB)

Four Year program
The Department of Visual Arts offers a four-year program leading to the Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts, HBFA (Visual Arts).

Students are required to maintain a B average in their Visual Arts courses in order to remain in the program. All courses will be chosen in consultation with the departmental counselor prior to registration.

First Year:
(a) Visual Arts 1110 and 1130
(b) Visual Arts 1150 and 1170
(c) Visual Arts 1010, 1030, 1050 and 1070
(d) Visual Arts 1090 and 1091
(e) One FCE elective from Type B courses

Second Year:
(a) Visual Arts 2211 and 2212
(b) Two FCEs from the following Visual Art studio courses at second year level: Visual Arts 2010/2011, 2014/2015, 2110/2111, 2112/2113, 2114/2115
(c) One FCE in Visual Arts studio courses at second year level or an elective *
(d) One FCE elective from Type B courses

Third Year:
(a) Two of the following Visual Arts studio courses at third year level: Visual Arts 3001, 3021, 3041, 3101, 3141
(b) One FCE in second or third year Visual Arts studio courses or an elective*
(c) One FCE from art history courses: Visual Arts 3231, 3811, 3870, 3871, 4213, 4250
(d) One FCE elective from Type A courses

Fourth Year:
(a) Visual Arts 4010 and 4130
(b) Visual Arts 4140
(c) Another Visual Arts studio course at third or fourth year levels, excluding Major Studio topic (Visual Arts 4140). Fourth year studio courses are: Visual Arts 4003, 4021, 4041, 4101, 4141.
(d) One FCE from: Visual Arts 3231, 3811, 3870, 3871, 4213, 4250
(e) One FCE elective to be determined in consultation with the Department of Visual Arts

Note:
* Students wishing to pursue a Master's Degree in studio art (MFA) are advised to select the studio course.
