In-Course-Faculty of Engineering-By Application

The following 2013-2014 Endowed and Non-Endowed Donor In-Course Scholarship and Award Funds for the Faculty of Engineering by application are available. Note: Instead of dollar amount, "Not Available", indicates that donor funds are unavailable for this year.

Anchor Shoring & Caissons Civil Engineering Scholarship
$1,000 (A-ASCSI)
To be awarded a high ranking in-course student enrolled in Civil Engineering. Preference will be given to a student involved in extracurricular activities. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

William Baziuk, Sr. and Bruce Baziuk Engineering Award
$100 (WBBBI)
Awarded on the recommendation of the Scholarship/Awards Committee of the Faculty of Engineering to the highest ranking student entering the 3rd or 4th year of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree program who also displays leadership qualities and community involvement. Financial need may also be considered. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

J.P. Bickell Foundation Mining Award Program
Total award: $10,000. Number of awarded vary. Minimum award value $2,500 (A-JPBMI)
Awarded on the recommendation of the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee, to a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student registered in: BSc or HBSc Geology; BSc Earth Science; HBESc Environmental Studies with Earth Science; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering. Students must be enrolled in one the afore-mentioned disciplines, with a minimum 70% average in the previous year and must demonstrate an interest in the mining industry. The successful recipient will submit a written summary indicating their areas of interest which may include; operational, environmental and geological issues or concerns. T.A. Jones Civil Engineering Scholarship
$2,050 (O-TAJSI)
T.A. formed his own construction company T. A. Jones Construction, laying the foundation for the Tom Jones Corporation, as we know it today. A pioneer in the construction industry, T.A. forever changed the landscape of Northwestern Ontario through his involvement in the construction and development of many Thunder Bay buildings and landmarks.
Awarded to a student with financial need who is enrolled in civil engineering and holds a minimum 80% average.

G. Bryce Llewellyn Memorial Scholarship
$1,050 (O-GBLSI)
Created in loving memory of G. Bryce Llewellyn, by his family. Awarded to a student in civil engineering on the basis of financial need and high academic achievement.

Master Insulators' Association of Ontario Inc. Mechanical Engineering Award
$1,500 (A-MIAOI)
Awarded to a Mechanical Engineering student in their final year who expresses a career interest in the industrial and/or commercial industry sector. Awarded on the basis of academic standing and demonstrated financial need. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education In-course Scholarship
2 x $1,250 (A-OPEII)
Awarded by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education, on the recommendation of the Faculty of Engineering to male and female undergraduate student on the basis of a combination of high academic achievement and demonstrated leadership in professional affairs and extra curricular activities. Michael J. Pupeza Memorial Scholarship
$850 (02-MJPSI)
Created in 2005, in loving memory of Michael J. Pupeza, an industrial engineer, by his wife Mae. Provided to a student in the Faculty of Engineering with first class standing. Financial need may also be considered. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

Tenaris Roberto Rocca Educational Scholarship
3 x $4,000 (A-RRESI)
Awarded to a fourth year engineering student who holds a minimum 80% average and has proven extra-curricular activities within the last twelve months. Preference will be given to electrical or mechanical engineering students who have a graduated from a Northern Ontario high school.Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

Shell Canada Limited Engineering Scholarship
$200 (SCPEI)
Awarded to a student entering the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree program with at least first class standing. Community involvement and participation in student affairs may also be considered. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

TBayTel Award
$1,000 (A-TBTAI)
Awarded to a student enrolled in a computer science, business or engineering program. Preference will be given to a student who identifies that their parent is a current or retired TBayTel employee. Awarded on the basis of academic standing and community involvement. Financial need will also be considered. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.

Andre and Raymonde Turcotte Award in Engineering
$1,050 (O2-ARTAI)
Created in 2007 by Lakehead University alumnus and Lakehead University Alumni Honour Award recipient, Denis Turcotte, in honour of his parents' continuous support and constant encouragement to pursue a university education, in spite of not having had the same privilege. Awarded on the basis of financial need and a minimum B average to a student in the Faculty of Engineering. Application available on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.
