Honours BA, BEd (Women's Studies Major) P/J

Five Year program

Prior to Entry into Professional Year
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering honours bachelor degree program prior to entry into the Professional Year including:

1. 1 FCE in English, French or an Indigenous language
2. 1 FCE in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Bachelor of Education, Concurrent Content Regulations, #1 regarding eligible Science courses)
3. One half-course in Music or Visual Arts (Visual Arts 0510 recommended)
4. Education 2010 (.5 FCE)
5. Education 4417 and 4418 (.25 FCE x 2 = .5 FCE)
6. Education 4412, 4413, 4416, and one Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list) (.25 FCE x 4=1 FCE)
7. A minimum cumulative average of 65% and a minimum major average of 70%
8. Students in the Honours BA, BEd (Indigenous Learning Major) are required to take one FCE in Native Language, Visual Arts 2060/Indigenous Learning 2060 and English 2702/Indigenous Learning 2702. Students should also take one FCE in English at the first-year level, including at least one of English 1111 or 1112, in the First Year. Students are encouraged to choose either Education 3235 or 3270 as their Education elective.

Note:
For students in concurrent honours bachelor degree programs, 2 (two) FCEs of required Education courses will be taken instead of electives in the HBA or HBSc program, prior to entering the Professional Year.

First Year:
(a) Women's Studies 1100
(b) One FCE from Group I (see Social Sciences and Humanities Regulations, First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)
(c) One FCE from Group II (see First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)
(d) One FCE from Group I (if Women's Studies 1100 is counted as Group II) or one FCE from Group II (if Women's Studies 1100 is counted as Group I)
(e) One FCE elective

Second Year:
(a) One FCE chosen from: Women's Studies 2111, 2113, 21142115, 2117, 2118, 23102711
(b) One FCE in Women's Studies from Group A courses
(c) Three FCE electives

Third Year:
(a) Women's Studies 3030
(b) One FCE in Women's Studies from Group A courses
(c) One and one-half FCEs in Women's Studies from Group A or Group B courses
(d) Two FCE electives
Note: At least one FCE in (b) and (c) must be at the third year level

Fourth Year:
(a) Women's Studies 4010*
(b) One and a half FCEs in Women's Studies from Group A at the third or fourth year level
(c) One FCE in Women's Studies from Group A or B at the third or fourth year level or Women's Studies 4901*
(d) Two FCE electives
*Note: Women's Studies 4010 and 4901 are restricted to students in the Honours BA program in Women's Studies.

Fifth Year (Professional Year):
