Honours BSc, BEd (Mathematics Major) P/J

Five Year program
An overall average of at least 70% in the mathematics courses taken is required.

Prior to Entry into Professional Year
In concurrent Education programs at the Primary/Junior level, students must meet and complete requirements of the partnering honours bachelor degree program prior to entry into the Professional Year including:

1. 1 FCE in English, French or an Indigenous language
2. 1 FCE in Science (General Science 1000 recommended) (see Concurrent Bachelor of Education, Concurrent Content Regulations, #1 regarding eligible Science courses)
3. One half-course in Music or Visual Arts (Visual Arts 0510 recommended)
4. Education 2010 (.5 FCE)
5. Education 4417 and 4418 (.25 FCE x 2 = .5 FCE)
6. Education 4412, 4413, 4416, and one Education elective (see Electives in the Department of Undergraduate Studies in Education Courses list) (.25 FCE x 4=1 FCE)
7. A minimum cumulative average of 65% and a minimum major average of 70%
8. Students in the Honours BA, BEd (Indigenous Learning Major) are required to take one FCE in Native Language, Visual Arts 2060/Indigenous Learning 2060 and English 2702/Indigenous Learning 2702. Students should also take one FCE in English at the first-year level, including at least one of English 1111 or 1112, in the First Year. Students are encouraged to choose either Education 3235 or 3270 as their Education elective.

For students in concurrent honours bachelor degree programs, 2 (two) FCEs of required Education courses will be taken instead of electives in the HBSc program, prior to entering the Professional Year.

First Year:
(a) Mathematics 1171, 1172, 1271 and 1272
(b) One FCE from English 1011, 1031, 1111, 1112 (it is recommended that at least one be from 1011, 1031), or one FCE from Group I or Group II, excluding Mathematics, approved by the Department (see Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)
(c) Two FCEs chosen from Biology 1110/1130, Chemistry 1110/1130, Computer Science 1411/1431, Geography 1120, Geology 1110/1130, Physics 1101

Second Year:
(a) Mathematics 2111, 2131, 2232, 2234, 2255, 2275
(b) One FCE elective in Science at the second year level or higher
(c) One FCE elective

Third Year:
(a) Mathematics 3231, 3233, 3332, 3334
(b) One FCE in Mathematics at the third or fourth year level
(c) One FCE elective in Science
(d) One FCE elective

Fourth Year:
(a) Mathematics 3171, 4151, 4301
(b) One FCE in Mathematics at the third or fourth year level
(c) Two FCE electives

Fifth Year (Professional Year):
Concurrent honours Professional Year (Primary/Junior) requirements are:
