BA (French Major) (TB)

Three Year program
The minimum requirement is 60% in French 1200 or French 1204 and in French 2201, and an overall average of at least 60% in French courses taken in each subsequent year. It is recommended that students take a minor in another language.

First Year:
(a) French 1510 and 1511
(b) French 1200 or 1204
(c) One FCE from Group I, of which one may be from the Department of Languages (see Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)
(d) One FCE from Group II* (see Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)
(e) One FCE elective

Second Year:
(a) French 2201 and one FCE in French at the second year level
(b) One full course equivalent elective (A French course is recommended.)
(c) Two FCE electives (If not already included under (d) in the First Year program, a second FCE must be chosen from Group II.) (see Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, First Year Arts Program Grouping Requirements)

Third Year:
(a) Three FCEs in French at the third or fourth year level
(b) Two FCE electives

A student who has qualified for a BA (French Major) may qualify for an Honours BA (French) by fulfilling the requirements specified under that program description.
