In-Course-Faculty of Natural Resources Management-No Application

The following 2013-2014 Endowed and Non-Endowed Donor In-Course Scholarship and Award Funds for the Faculty of Natural Resources Management (with no application) are available. Note: Instead of dollar amount, "Not Available", indicates that donor funds are unavailable for this year.


Bowater Canadian Forest Products Inc. Forestry Award
"Not Available" (A-CPFP 1, 2, 3)
Awarded on the basis of academic performance to a deserving student of the Forestry Degree program at Lakehead University. The award will be paid in three yearly installments of $200 each, provided a satisfactory average is maintained. Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

George I. Dawosyr Memorial Award
$600 (DGMAI)
Established in 1991 in memory of a former Forestry library staff member and Slavic language specialist at Lakehead University. Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Management to a high-ranking student enrolled in the forestry program.

Kenneth Hearnden Award in Forestry (Degree)
$200 (KHAFI)
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a full-time student entering the fourth year of the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry Degree program who has achieved the highest overall average of the required, non-elective courses in the third year of the program.

Kenneth Hearnden Award in Forestry (Transfer)
$200 (KHAFI)
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a full-time student who has transferred from a forest technology program at another institution. The award will be given to the student with the highest standing in Forest Mensuration courses.

Lakehead Regional Safety Committee Award for a 2nd Year Forestry Degree 2nd Year Student
$800 (A-LFSAI)
Awarded annually to a deserving second year student registered full-time in either the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry or the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry Co-operative Degree programs, with good academic standing. Preference shall be given to a student from Northwestern Ontario. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

Lakehead Regional Safety Committee Award for a Forestry Degree Student
$800 (A-LFSCI)
Awarded annually to a deserving second, third or fourth year student registered full-time in either the Honours Bachelor of Science Forestry or Honours Bachelor of Science Forestry Co-operative Degree program, with good academic standing. Preference shall be given to a student from Northwestern Ontario. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management by the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

Ontario Professional Foresters Association Prize
"Not Available" (A-OPFAI)
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a graduating student from the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry Degree program. The student must have demonstrated both academic excellence and an interest in professionalism during his/her undergraduate years.

PRT Silviculture Award
"Not Available" (A-PRTAI)
Awarded annually to a student who completes the second year of the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry program with the highest standing in silviculture. Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

PRT Silviculture Award
"Not Available" (A-PRTAI)
Awarded to the student entering the Forestry Diploma/Forestry Degree Transfer Program and achieved the highest standing in silviculture taken at Lakehead University. Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

Jane Spurgeon Memorial Award
"Not Available" (JSMAI)
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a student entering second year who exhibits good potential in the forestry field. The recipient will be judged on potential in the forestry field, ambitions, interests, extra-curricular activities and academic standing.

Superior - Woods Tree Improvement Association Forest Genetics Course Award
$500 (A-SWTAI)
Awarded annually to a student who completes Natural Resources Management 2051 - Forest Genetics. Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee.

Leo Vidlak Memorial Award
$100 (LVMAI)
Awarded by the Faculty of Natural Resources Management to a student who has completed a forestry diploma program with a high academic standing in dendrology and who achieves a high standing in Natural Resources Management 3214 - Silviculture II.
