In-Course-Faculty of Business Administration-No Application

The following 2013-2014 Endowed and Non-Endowed Donor In-Course Scholarship and Award Funds for the Faculty of Business Administration (with no application) are available. Note: Instead of dollar amount, "Not Available", indicates that donor funds are unavailable for this year.


The John Andrews Commerce Scholarship
$200 (JACSI)
Awarded to a full-time Bachelor of Commerce student of high standing who has completed at least four full courses of the courses required for the first year and is proceeding as a full-time student into the second year of the program.

BDO Canada LLP Award in Accounting
$500 (A-BSASI)
Awarded to a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program who intends to pursue a Chartered Accountant designation and who has completed all courses required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. The recipient will be the student who achieves the highest average in auditing, tax and all accounting courses taken beyond the introductory financial accounting level, including those accounting courses which are not mandatory for the above-mentioned Institute's purposes. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration.

BDO Canada LLP Award in Financial Accounting
$500 (A-DWMFI)
Awarded to a student in the second year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program who has achieved the highest marks in Business 2052 - Intermediate Financial Accounting I. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration.

William H. Buset Scholarship
3 x $300 (BUSSI)
Awarded to one high ranking student registered full-time in Business, Music and Visual Arts.

CMA Award for Excellence in the Study of Strategic Management
$100 Number of awarded vary (CMAEI)
Awarded on the basis of recommendation by the Faculty of Business Administration to the group of students in the final year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree Program who have completed the best strategy report.

Ben Cowan Scholarship
$200 (BCBSI)
Created through the Estate of Ben Cowan, Lakehead University Honourary Degree recipient. Awarded to a high-achieving student in the Faculty of Business Administration.

Eaton Foundation Award in Marketing
$200 (EFAMI)
Awarded by the Eaton Foundation on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to the student majoring in Marketing receiving the highest standing in the third year of the Bachelor of Commerce program and who demonstrates an interest in retailing.

Eaton Foundation Business Scholarship
$200 (EFBSI)
Awarded by The Eaton Foundation on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to a Canadian student who has demonstrated outstanding academic ability and is entering the fourth year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree program.

Faculty of Business Administration Development Fund Award
$225 (SBADI)
Awarded annually to a high ranking student entering the final year of the Bachelor of Administration Degree or the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree program.

David A. Flug Memorial Award
$200 (DFMAI)
Established in 1988 in memory of David A. Flug, a second-year Lakehead University Bachelor of Administration student, by his family and many friends. Awarded to a student in the second year of the Bachelor of Administration Degree program, on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration, to the student who has shown the greatest improvement over the previous year's effort. Financial need may also be considered.

KPMG Award in Business
$300 (KPMGI)
Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Business Administration to a student in their third or fourth year, considering a career as a Chartered Accountant. The recipient will have achieved a minimum of 80% in pre-requisite accounting courses.

Adam Molai Small Business Consulting Service Award
$150 (AMBCI)
Awarded to a full-time student entering the third or fourth year of a degree program in the Faculty of Business Administration, with a minimum 'B' standing. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates active involvement in Lakehead University's Small Business Consulting Service and/or the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition. The successful recipient may hold no other University administered scholarship/award. Awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty in liaison with the Small Business Consulting Service and the ICBC Liaison.

Northwestern Ontario Chartered Accountants Association Award
$150 (NOCEI)
Awarded to a full-time student entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce Degree program who has achieved in the third year the highest aggregate of grades in certain courses as specified by the Chartered Accountant Association.

Annie Werbicka Childs Undergraduate Business Scholarship
$1,250 (A-WCBSI)
Awarded annually to an undergraduate student registered in the Faculty of Business Administration on the basis of academic excellence.
